Math, Science, and Comp Sci Tutor

I’m Josh and I’m a junior at Highland Park High School. I’m very passionate about teaching math, science, and computer science. I have earned A’s in all my classes, and excelled in these subjects outside of the classroom, such as competing and getting 8th at the ICTM Illinois State Math Team competition in the 2 Person Team category. I am a very patient tutor that is flexible to people’s schedule and their learning methods.

I strongly believe that the key to success in math and other S.T.E.M subjects is an intuitive understanding of concepts rather than memorizing formulas or repeating steps without understanding them. My best strength as a tutor is being able to explain complex topics in simple ways, often using analogies or metaphors, to help translate them to students. This helps empowers students by giving them the confidence necessary to tackle difficult homework problems and ace their tests.

-5 on AP Comp Sci A
-4.0/4.91 GPA (unweighted/weighted)
-1500 PSAT (800/perfect math)
-8th place in ICTM Illinois State Math Team 2 Person Team
